facial expressions
This cartoon was sent to me by a friend who knows how much stock I put in facial expressions of emotion.
it begins
I came across the phrase "cognitive shenanigans" in an article I was reading for my preliminary examinations in psychology (more about this later). I decided since I have no musical talent, I cannot use it for a band name, so I might as well start a blog. I think this is appropriate, for two reasons. First, as a graduate student in psychology, I am studying emotion and consciousness, and I am constantly learning about cognitive processes, which, if renamed "cognitive shenanigans," will become even more fun. Woohoo reappraisal. Second, St. Patrick's day is either yesterday (if you abide by the Pope's rescheduling of the holiday due to its overlap with Holy Week) or tomorrow (if you are a calendar traditionalist), or maybe both (which makes today a St. Patty's sandwich).
At any rate, today marks the beginning of this blog, which will be devoted to my musings regarding psychology. Hopefully it will help me make sense of my explorations in prelim-land, in preparation for my paper (or exam, still haven't decided about that).
